Floor Care

Before being introduced to Buckeye’s Hard Floor Care Program, the City of Beaumont had never implemented a complete hard floor care program. Buckeye understands that labor, resources, cost, and expectations are all important factors when choosing a hard floor care program.

With several different floor types, including concrete and tile flooring throughout their many facilities, Beaumont needed a comprehensive, standardized program. They began using Juggernaut^® Floor Stripper and Proclaim^® Concrete Floor Coating in several facilities. Staff members find the products easy to work with and appreciate the training provided by Buckeye representatives.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Beaumont took an even closer look at their floors, adding Clarion^® 25 Microban^® Antimicrobial Floor Finish to their list of floor care products. Microban protection is built into Clarion 25 during the manufacturing process, providing continuous antimicrobial product protection for the useful lifetime of the product.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

The City of Beaumont has at least one Eco^® Proportioning System installed in each of their facilities, each stocked with Eco products suitable for the needs of that facility. These easy-to-operate systems have standardized cleaning across all facilities.

Training Staff

One of the most difficult parts of transitioning staff to new programs is the training and knowledge required for the new products and programs.

The Honors^® Custodial Training Program

The Honors Custodial Training Program has been a huge help for the City of Beaumont. In the past, staff attended quarterly training modules, but Hodgkinson hopes to begin monthly training sessions this year.

How Beaumont Trains with Honors

1. Each training session begins with an Honors video about a specific maintenance task, e.g. carpet cleaning or hard floor care
2. After watching the video, the staff discuss and review the information as a group
3. Then, staff members have the opportunity to do some hands-on training with equipment and products showcased in the video
4. Once the training session is over, staff members take the corresponding Honors test to ensure they have retained the information

This has been a helpful addition to in-person training provided by Buckeye representatives.

Guest Experience

Providing peace of mind for visitors during the pandemic also includes providing opportunities for hand hygiene. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) state that hand hygiene is one of the most important steps in reducing the spread of germs.

The City of Beaumont is required to supply hand sanitizer at the entrances to each of their facilities, but have placed additional dispensers in several facilities for the comfort of guests.

Throughout their facilities, at entrances, and in restrooms, the City of Beaumont uses:

These products are less likely to contribute to dry hands and leave no sticky residue behind.

Many visitors are taking advantage of the hand sanitizer provided at entrances and throughout facilities. With Symmetry, the City of Beaumont is promoting the health of their visitors and reducing the spread of germs.
